OK, we all know that the maps in AW's "Classic" case were carried over from the original Famicom Wars. These maps were also in Super Famicom Wars. But what many of you probably didn't know is that many of Advance Wars's War Room maps first appeared in Super Famicom Wars!
Check it:
Moji Island.
Mial's Hope.
Land's End.
Duo Falls.
Point Stormy. In Advance Wars, the two armies switched positions: GE was on the bottom position here, but in AW, OS is on the top position.
Austrailia Egg Islands.
Terra Maw.
You see it now? The difference back then was that these maps were Green Earth vs. Yellow Comet rather than Orange Star vs. Blue Moon like the "Classic" maps.
These maps also featured SFW-exclusive terrain: The Rail Station, Rails and Rail Turtle all functioned similar to Pipes and Piperunners, however, other ground units can move on rails, and two foot soldiers can be loaded onto a Rail Turtle.
There's also the Radar Array. You recieve one (AND ONLY ONE) New Model Tank per Array captured.
