Cardfight!! Vanguard

And so the possible future of card games and stratagy.
Out in japan right now.
I'm hopeing for a american release. (Thats not 4kids)
The game seems to be easy to learn and understand.
This game came out in March this year in japan and the anime in January this year in Japan.
TCG created by Yu-Gi-Oh, Duel Masters and Bushiroad Presidents.

I can't see this game busting the charts in either country, really. I mean I've seen too many TCGs try and fail after a while due to...various reasons. But hey, all the bad card games I've played were licensed works, so maybe this will turn out OK!

I cant blame you for that one. I loved Duel Masters better then Magic The Gathering.
I see a future for this game although it needs more cards first.
Its has an easy learning curve so even young people can play well.
Fast duels can happen too.
If not I hope they at least make a psp game for it so we can still enjoy it.

EDIT:Ok let me honest with myself. Yugioh is a great card game. Sure.
Its survived many different changes and brought a bit of variaty to the game including the new Exceed summon comming out soon. But all its become is OTK fest of random cards. All the game has become is who can get their OTK the fastest.

Yugioh stopped being fun when they first introduced "Neo Contact Fusion" and almost everything after that bore me. (except stardust but

Now back to Vanguard:
The Only Thing I wish is that Vanguard would at least be On Par with magic or yugioh and that people give it a chance. Its a great card game.
It has the potential to be a great american card game but only if people give it a chance.

Hey, this show could turn out good after all. Unlike Yu-gi-oh!, there aren't any duel disks or oversized battle arenas. Very refreshing. And I like the game, too, doesn't seem to rely on excessive luck or massive fireworks like Yu-gi-oh! does. This is a MAN'S card game, not a children card game!

He had a disk like looking thing in the intro so something in the future is probably going to happen for him to get one.

If you liked it watch more. The first 7 episodes slowly expand the game futher to show what you can do. After that the first tournament starts.

Checking for drive triggers and damage triggers is excessive luck based enough because of the trigger system. Will a good card come to your hand when you drive trigger, or will a good one be thrown into the damage zone because you had crummy luck and got damaged. But your right, It's not as excessive or massive like yu-gi-oh is.

My friend things it plays a lot like duel masters in certain aspects. What do you think?

Pfff this is nothing like Duel Masters. Duel Masters is an MTG clone (in a good way).

And Vanguard has way less luck than any other card game I've played barring DM. I mean think about it. Pokemon and MTG force you to fill your deck with junk "mana" cards just to be able to do anything, and even if you fill half your deck with them, if you don't draw one, or draw one and not get another, you ain't winning the game.

Vanguard...the only luck involved is, as you said, Drive Trigger checks, but you can simply put multiple cards with the symbol in your deck to up your odds. The key to making a great CCG is making absolutely sure to involve luck as little as possible and Vanguard is very good about this.

Out of the 50 cards that can be put in your deck only 16 can be Triggers (Symbol on the top right of the card) and out of the 16 cards you can only use only 4 can be heal triggers. Since you can use up to 4 of each card. Most players will probably run 4 stand, 4 draw, 4 heal, 4 critical in a average deck.
