Welcome to the Cyberpunk Text Adventure!

UPDATED ON MONDAYS AND FRIDAYS ONLY Y'ALL!

Let me explain what we do here and how to do them:

- First off, for those of you who don't know what Cyberpunk is, its basically a culmination of futuristic and or advanced technology and ideologies. Examples are: Cyborgs, Androids, Laser Blasters, Giant Robots (Both operable and sentient), Nano Machines, Holograms, and all that good stuff.

- You will be given a title/codename in the game. Depending on what actions you take, how bored I am, how you treat your fellow players, and other circumstances, the title/codename given will differ greatly. These special titles/codenames will effect what areas you can go to, what items you get, and other pleasant surprises.

- Unlike the other games, you start off with 4 hearts instead of three. As this is the future, there are A LOT of things that can kill you in a very short amount of time. So I feel this is necessary.

- Combat is the same practically, the fastest weapon goes first and the slowest goes last. However there are exceptions to this rule depending on some of the circumstances in here, so be on your toes.

- THE THREE MENUS:

1. Points of Interest - Usually things that hold: Items, Equipment, Credits, Miscellaneous items, etc. You can decide to look through them or not, it's up to you. And you can only look through two of them (Per Area Anyway) so choose wisely. In example: When you're in a room or location and I list some things in the "Points of Interest" list, you can check them out once before leaving the area from the "Open Paths" list. When you have checked a point out, the option for it will be taken away. Once you choose two of them (if there's two at all, sometimes there might not be any at all.), you cannot check out the rest.

2. Open Paths - Select a direction and go that way! Simple as pie!

3. Command Menu - During certain events triggered by certain choices, the Command Menu will appear and list your options in three groups: Basic, Special, and Funny Commands. You have three tries to get yourself out of the pickle you're in, using the commands from any group as many times as you want. Fail and either: A) Lose Health or B) Die. Succeed and you survive! Considered to be the Text Adventure equivalent to a Quick-Time event.

- Your money and items are stored in a wrist communicator known as a PID (Personal Identification Device), which scans and converts solid objects into bytes and then stores them in its vast 4000gig database. Just select the item again and it will transform into a workable object once more! Also the PID can be used to make purchases, withdrawals, and deposits of any credits you may receive or find. Credits come in small plastic cards with a number on them. (Ex: A card that has 50 on it has 50 credits inside. Scan it to take them.) It also functions as a Phone, Internet Browser, GPS, Day Planner, Weather Reader, Language Translator (Both spoken and Written, just scan the writing.), and Radio.

- If you want a different name for your character in this adventure, then please tell me when you first post.

Ex: "I'd like to join this game with the name of..."

Or something like that. If you don't want a different name, then that's fine. Just say "I want to join." and stuff.

You wake up with a start from a horrible nightmare, only to find yourself staring up at an unfamiliar ceiling then when the last time you were awake. Feeling groggy and your vision blurry, you sit-up and take some deep breaths until your sight clears and you can see once more. Turning your head this way and that, you nod and happen to recognize the room as a First Aid Station. Hopping out of the bed you shake yourself awake and go about your surroundings.

You open the cabinet to find yourself some clothing! Really good clothing too! They appear to be a jumpsuit befitting of an engineer, and they fit you perfectly as you look at them in the cabinet's mirror. You send them to your PID for later. Looking around the cabinet some more, you manage to pick up a small flathead screwdriver and what looks like some sort of grenade. (Who the hell carries around a grenade with them!?) You scan the two items and send them to your inventory. Closing the cabinet you go back to looking around.

You take a gander at the Medicinal Cabinet on the wall nearby the Patient's Belonging's Cabinet, and give it a quick browsing. However you decide not to take anything yet so here's what's in it:

- Antidote [Cures Poison] x1 (Invented around 2345, this is the first and only cure-all antidote ever made! All manner of poisons and venom can be defeated instantly with just a quick swig from this packet! Warning: Doesn't cure Death.)

- NanoPatch [Heals 1 Heart] x2 (A miracle of modern medicinal science! This patch when applied to an open and bleeding wound releases an anti-biotic gel teeming with nano-machines that within an hour or so, stops the bleeding and super heals the wound on a microscopic level. It's as if you never injured yourself at all!)

- FrznO2 [Blaster Ammo] x1 (A special temperature treated ammo that is used in most freeze-type laserguns. This clip contains highly concentrated liquid nitrogen that when fired, instantly freezes anything that comes into contact with it. Its a very unpleasant way to go. - What's it doing in a medicine cabinet is beyond me...)

- STR Boost [Stat Raiser] x1 (Drink this and you will become ten times as strong as you are now . However, after an hour or so, you'll feel severely physically and mentally drained.)

It fires two shots per clip and takes out two hearts per hit.) thinking about the task ahead and wondering the outcome of the battle. Feeling restless, you put the weapon on safety and sling it onto your shoulder. It's after hours on board your vessel but seeing as you won't be getting sleep soon, you decide to wander around the mercenary carrier for a bit.

First thing's first! Unlocking the latches underneath your bunk, you lift up the bed and see all of the mementos and junk you've collected over the years of being a mercenary. You sniffle at the memories flooding your mind as you look through the stuff. Then you find some weapons and ammo inside your bunk and wipe the tears away! You look to the Pulse Rifle on your back and wonder if you should switch it out for something in your personal arsenal.

Personal Arsenal:

Standard Blaster [Weapon] x2 (Decide to either dual wield or single wield these puppies. They're not the most powerful weapons, causing only 1/2 damage to one heart per shot, but they always go first, and carry 4 shots each. However, Dual Wielding lowers the accuracy from 100% to a staggering 75%)

BlstClip [Blaster Ammo] x5 (Energy Cells for the Standard Blaster.)


You think on it as you leave your bunk open and turn to face the Dual Pack Cabinet on the hull near your bunk. You open it to find a few things like:

- Antidote [Cures Poison] x1 (Read the Description in the Above Post)

- DEF Boost [Stat Raiser] (Swallow this pill and be able to endure more pain and exhaustion than any above-average human being. The bad news is, you're going to puke all over once the effect is done with, and all the pain you couldn't feel during is going to come rushing right back after!)

- Ballistic Ammo [Gun Ammo] x1 (From the days of yore! This is .22 pistol ammo, back when they used gun powder and lead instead of energy based weapons that show on the battlefields of today! - Who keeps stuffing first aid kits with ammunition!?)

- Pen-Sized Flashlight [Equipment] x1 (A pen-sized flashlight that's good for one use and lasts at best 8 hours. It can light up some pretty dark places fairly well.)

- Pocket-Sized Inflatable Raft [Equipment] x1 (You know its the future when they discovered how to make an entire fully functional inflatable raft in the size of a playing card!)

- 1,000 Credits [Money] x1 (1,000 Credits on a simple money card. It must have been someone's secret stash! Do you really want to be a jerk and take it?)

After many a years stuck inside a cryogenic chamber, you're revived! And totally naked! Yikes! You feel very fucking cold and as if someone hit you over the head with an ice pick or something. Scrambling out of the freezer tube you were suspended in, you noticed you've gone temporarily blind and start waving your arms about and trying to get your balance back. You hear a voice coming from some direction, its a man's voice.

"Hello! My name is Dr. Braughn, I am in charge of the Cryogenics Laboratory and I wish to welcome you to the future! According to our records, you've been frozen for nearly 100 years! This might be quite a shock to you!" He finishes explaining. "Ah! How rude of me!"

Dr. Braughn goes towards you and slaps something on your wrist. "This is a present, as all people in this era are required to wear one. Its a Personal Identification Device! It's a pretty handy device, and we've added 5000 credits to your account to get you started on a new futuristic life! Your belongings are this way. And don't worry about the blindness, it will wear off soon."

All you hear from this guy is "blahblahblahblahblahblah" literally as your senses haven't regained themselves yet! You're startled when he slams something over your wrist, but just choose to accept it. Then you feel the familiar warmth of clothing, and wonder, what the hell is going on? But then your senses finally kick in and whatever the doctor said to you kicks in as well. You're stuck 100 years in the future! Good Luck!

Heading into the Staff Lounge you see a bulletin board on the wall and head towards it, giving it a serious and analytical look through to see if you can't make sense of any of this. But much to your surprise, no employees are displayed in the shift schedule! Not only that, but any company social events that have been posted have been cancelled for unexplained reasons. How strange and curious! Something is up with this place...

But you do manage to find out something at least, you're in a Medical Engineering Company's HQ building.

None the less you take everything listed and are on your merry way~

You brush past the doctor who's strangely staring at you and examine the cryogenic freezer that you were in. You notice something shiny inside it and decide to reach in and grab it, much to your own folly! Dr. Braughn comes up from behind and shoves you in! You struggle to scramble out but Dr. Braugn fiercely smacks you with the door! Suddenly you find yourself stuck once again naked in the freeze-y tube! Time to introduce the "Command Menu"! (See the Opening Post for an explanation.)
